The Inheritance by Elaine Jeramiah
There are all the elements of a really good novel in ‘The Inheritance’, fantastic settings in London and Cornwall, potentially intriguing characters – Kate, devoted to the family farm, and her sister Emma, who feels trapped and escapes to London, and the mystery of what really happened to their mother and to Kate’s one and only love, Steven.
There are also moments when the writing works beautifully and you are really drawn in. However, there were also times when the writing was clunky and awkward and when the plot didn’t quite ring true.
