I taught literacy to adults years ago; it was very rewarding, that moment of someone first understanding is wonderful.

My life without reading, unbearable. I spent so much time hiding in books… A next door neighbour had five daughters who thought it would be fun to teach the baby on the block to read. I was three and they literally gave me the rope to hang on to. When my children were young we had stories and poems with all the voices. Every gift giving occasion was an occasion to increase their personal library. When there was an opportunity to share this passion, I’m all over it. 🙂
